Instructions
Bring the broth, butter, salt, and pepper to a boil in a medium Dutch oven or 3-quart saucepan over high heat.
Add the pasta. Cook, stirring often, for 9-11 minutes. The pasta should be al dente, a couple minutes shy of completely tender.
Remove the pot from the heat and add the cheese, breaking it into pieces.
Cover the pasta and let the cheese melt, 3-4 minutes.
Stir the pasta to blend in the cheese. Add a splash of milk if needed to get the desired texture.
Serve, garnishing with finely chopped herbs.
